Common questions

How much does an estimate cost?

In-home estimates are free and carry no obligation. You get a written proposal whether or not you decide to move forward with us.

Why are estimates only Monday through Friday?

Our estimators walk active job sites during the week, which is when our project managers, suppliers, and trade partners are also available to answer questions about your project. Keeping estimates inside standard business hours means the person at your house can get you real answers on the spot rather than following up days later.

How long does the estimate appointment take?

Plan for 45 to 90 minutes depending on the size of the project. We measure the space, discuss what you want, and talk through realistic budget ranges before we leave.

When will I receive my proposal?

Most written proposals go out within three to five business days of the site visit. Larger projects that need engineering or drafting input can take longer, and we will tell you the timeline before we leave your home.

Do I need to have my design finalized first?

No. Many homeowners book an estimate with only a rough idea of what they want. Part of what we do at the visit is help you understand what is structurally possible and what it costs.

Should I book a deck or outdoor project in the winter?

Yes. Manitoba has a short build season and outdoor work books up months in advance. Estimating over the winter is how you get a deck or pergola finished early in the summer rather than late in the fall.
